Hotel food outlets being more expensive than off property is not specific to this particular Andaz. And you can just as easily bring takeout to your room at the Andaz as anywhere else. In any event, it's about what's best for your particular needs and desires.
Personally, I like suites when they provide some unique feature (e.g. better bathroom, better view, better services), but unless I'm traveling with a group, I find that 95% of the time I don't use the living room area if it's separate from the bedroom, and I've turned down suites if the only benefit is more square footage but you lose out on other things (e.g. view).
