The Good: Staff is great though many of the old timers are either retired or on leave. Can still get soap bars. Champagne on arrival replaced by drink tickets for bar. No cig smoke indoors. Lone Eagle Grill is still outstanding. Restaurants are open at 25% capacity or (better option) takeout.
The Bad:
- No valet parking and it can be a cold hike through the lot to retrieve your vehicle.
- No hot tubs (though heated swimming pool is open)
- No daily maid service (though bathrooms are well stocked with towels)
- No club lounge (as noted above)
- No more mini shampoos only bulk dispensers in showers
- $40 resort fee for no real amenities except maybe checking your skis
- Lines for elevators at peak times (think 5-7pm) due to capacity limits
- Pot smoke in hallways at night
Overall I can't really complain as the rooms are still decent and it is one of the better hotels for skiers. But it seems like a bit of a shell compared to pre-COVID days. Highly recommend takeout from Koi Sushi or TJ Rotisserie. Bite is excellent but a better option when we are all vaccinated.
Bite was definitely crowded. Amazing how fast thing have changed; when we were there in December, they still had daily maid service. The two elevators during peak times isn't enough for sure.
