i don't know how you define hotels - those are properties with very large units, beachfront, which you can book with hyatt points or where you can earn hyatt points. Whether you prefer a small hotel room with more public spaces but with paid (and imo overpriced) services and food outlets or a large condo where you park your car yourself and can bring take out from monkeypod to eat on your patio or dining table - its really your call. I am just very happy to have that choice - condos work much better for family travel but of course ymmv.
I really think you need to have some type of food outlet in the complex to be a hotel, at the very least.
I definitely agree that rental condos are not hotels.
