From reading a recent HNL Trip Report in that forum (granted, the poster was on UA, but I'd imagine it would be similar for all airlines) - when he went through SFO, he was able to show his Covid test results there and United confirmed them, so they put a wristband on him that allowed for him to go straight to the exit in HNL versus having to report to authorities there after landing.
