I didn't fly on the reverse seats on the AA 77E but I did on the same exact seats ( Safran Concept D ) on the AA 787-8 and I found them really comfortable and didn't feel any strangeness.
I was happy to fly on that seat on a 2h30min DFW-MIA hop and had a good nap during the flight and I would prefer those seats over any AA Domestic First seats.
