BEB5 Tsuchiura by Hoshino Resorts
BEB5 is a younger casual concept than what Hoshino resorts are normally associated with and connected to a suburb train station & Play Atre. It looks like there's a cycling route (was aware of Shimanami Kaido but not
Tsukuba Kasumigaura Ring Ring Road route in Ibaraki)
Hoshino's Omo hotel brand also seems geared towards 20-30's travel. I thought it was expensive for a fashionable business hotel with a bit of extra in-room seating when I mocked priced an OMO5 weekend night some time last year.
ETA: OMO5 has a split bath for a double room (loft bed) & paid cafe with breakfast, lunch, then bar so I'd reclassify it as a hotel since most JP business hotel double rooms have unit baths and only breakfast. Still seems like the design tax is more in the Muji Hotel range without the same location advantage.
Hoshino, the parent company of Hoshinoya, definitely marketed certain properties towards overseas clientele.

I've seen JP google translated reviews of their mega ryokans in Aomori noting the international clientele and their booking sites are about the same layout in JP and EN. Website is also in Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
