Not how do the locations compare. Scenery in FP is nicer indeed, as these are real islands with mountains, lagoons, beaches etc. Maldives island resorts just consists of patches of sand with palm-trees. Nothing more.

In theory at Thalasso you do have the option to dine outside the hotel. In practise this won't save you money at all, as it costs over 100USD on boat fees + a lot of your time.
