The Luxe has an oblong shape that wouldn't fit well on many check stands, and that is now their only "multilane" solution. They kind of did that to themselves. I wish they kept the L5300 around, just modernized it.
I love the L5300. I actually used it today at Walgreens, which still uses them in all of their stores. I find this reader to me the most reliable with contactless and it works at a very good distance too. They must still be available somehow because when Walgreens converted all of the Rite Aid stores that they purchased (about half and then converted about 1,000 of them?) over the past few years, they replaced all of Rite Aid’s Verifone MX925s with the L5300.
