Asiana Airlines cancellation & refund experience - yikes
I've flown with Asiana before, but it was the first time I've booked a flight directly through flyasiana.com.
And all I can say is... wow. Talk about an archaic system.
I was set to fly LAX-ICN-KIX next week, but I received an email notifying me that the Seoul to Osaka leg had been cancelled. That's it. No link that would take me to alternate flight options, or to get a refund. Nothing.
Therefore, I picked up the phone and called Asiana at around 11PM Pacific Time. The nice lady (at the Seoul reservations office) told me that I needed to call back between 7AM and 5PM Pacific Time so they can fulfill my cancellation request. Ummm, okay.
I called at 10AM this morning, and the agent said that she was able to cancel the ticket. However, to receive a refund, I would need to send an email to Asiana's refund department with my name, ticket #, ticket amount, last 4 digits of the credit card, the credit card expiry date, and the reason for wanting the refund.
I've never come across a cancellation/refund system and process as nutty as what Asiana just put me through!
