Made a couple of wiki updates for Germany
Hampton by Hilton Munich Airport South has opened today.
There's been
an announcement that a new partner will develop ten new properties in Germany. We've heard this before a couple of times in the past decade, and it feels like the others never really got to ten, but even half of that would be fine these days. The first two are expected to open around 2022/23.
A 150-bedroom
Hilton Garden Inn will be developed in Herne, NRW, in a former office building in Shamrock park, close to the city center. Shamrock was actually the name of the first coal mine in that area (it had Irish investors) but these all closed by the late seventies. The offices used to be part of Ruhrkohle AG (RAG).
A 100-bedroom
Hampton by Hilton will come to a shopping center that is being redeveloped in the center of Bottrop, NRW. This is the city where you'll find
Movie Park Germany is (formerly Warner Bros Movie World), but closed in winter and/or during pandemic season.
Another Hampton (announced earlier) is under development near the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. Soon there will be a couple of Hilton-properties in this area at a walkable distance: Hampton Dortmund Phoenix See - 24 km to Herne - 12 km to Gelsenkirchen - 11 km to Bottrop.
