If that's worked in advance for you... great. But with COVID, IB has no real idea what aircraft will be operating the route. The 8 month thing - i.e. when the Winter 2022 schedule is released in roughly April - is something I've seen many times before.
I hear you, but the Bos-Mad route has been the same for years. Same plane, same times, same flight number. Seat selection is free when booked with avios, so that's not the problem. I believe that the web link I'm trying to reach has been eliminated. I say that because I usually book on Spanish site and when I log into US site and try to go to mange booking, I used to get a message pop up and redirected to Spanish site because that's where I booked. That no longer happens. It was buggy last Jan, and I believe it's gone for good.
