Sheraton Kagoshima, Japan [Master Thread]

Construction of Sheraton Kagoshima has recently started. Grand opening of the hotel is scheduled to be summer of 2022, the completion of the construction is scheduled to be July 2022 but no specific opening date is announced yet. Sheraton Kogoshima will be at the old transportation department building which is about 1.5 km (0.9 miles) east of JR Kagoshima Chuo station (terminus of Kyushu Shinkansen), right front of Takenohashi tram station, 10th stop from Kagoshima station tram stop, about 15 min. ride. Sheraton Kagoshima will be 19 story building with 223 rooms.

Marriott hotels has few more opening in Japan:
JW Marriott Nara (opened last year)
Fairfield by Mariott Kyoto Minamiyamaoshiro (opening March 2021)
Fairfield by Mariott Mie Oodai (opening March 2021)

Hilton hotels has also new opening planned in Japan:
Waldorf Astoria Tokyo Nihonbashi (opening 2026)
Hilton Sapporo Park Hotel (opening 2023)
DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama (opening 2022)
LXR Hotels and Resorts Kyoto (opening Fall 2021)
Hilton Hiroshima (opening 2022)
Hilton Nagasaki (opening 2021)
Hilton Okinawa Sesoko Resort (opened last year)
Hilton Okinawa Kin (opening 2021)
Hilton Okinawa Miyako-shima Resort (opening 2023)

As a Hilton Honor member it is nice to see Hilton is expanding in Japan, especially Hilton openiong at Sapporo after loss of Hilton Otaru in 2009. Also interesting to see Hilton concentrating on Okinawa. After above mentioned are open Okinawa will have seven Hilton branded hotels.

P.S.
Note that JR station at Koagoshima is "Kagoshima Chuo" and till opening of Kyushu Shinkansen extension to Kagoshima in 2003, this JR station was "Nishi-Kagoshima." However, the tram stop right in front of JR station is always has been "Kagoshima Station."
