The planned luxury resort in Zermatt is the first hotel of a global brand in the Valais tourist resort. "The Ritz-Carlton Zermatt" is only the second hotel of the brand in Switzerland after "The Ritz-Carlton Geneva" and the very first ski resort of The Ritz-Carlton in Europe.

The parent company Marriott International, the world's largest hotel company, wants to create a cosmopolitan flair on site and spread the magic of the famous mountain village out into the world, according to a corresponding message. The opening for the resort with 69 exclusive rooms and suites is planned for 2026.
