Only disadvantage is that the seats *face* the cafe, so that can be distracting, I think particularly so on an evening trip where the cafe car will be brightly lit. Recommend picking a seat near the back of the Business half-car, and book a window seat, to avoid the distractions.

Reason I took the Vermonter is because on that day, it had an earlier morning trip to NYP than did the Acela -- got me in over an hour earlier.
Sounds like this may be worth a try. I usually try to take an Acela where I can, especially if it's the whole length from NYP to WAS, however with the reduced schedule there isn't one in the evening (I think the last one is around 5pm or thereabouts?). It may be interesting to try something new, especially as it will be originating in NYP so no through passengers. The seat diagram shows 6 rows with row 1 closest to the Wheelchair Space facing towards the restroom side of the car. All seats look to be facing south in the diagram.

Great to know. I'll be coming in off another Amtrak service so shouldn't be too bad. Wish I had more time to check out the space and the Club Acela but at least I will see it in passing!
