As another data point, and assuming the advice is correct, I have just been told by a GGL CS agent that an avios-related FTV, ie an FTV that is derived from an unwanted or cancelled reward booking, can be refunded directly from the FTV if required at a later date. This is not the case with a revenue-based FTV.
