I, myself, do not participate in Omni/PR. Yet I find it valuable for FlyerTalk to have the forum. People are passionate about the water cooler topics of politics and religion. We have allowed this little corner of FlyerTalk for these discussions. Admission is required of six months and 180 posts on FlyerTalk. The forum is not open to google search or to outsiders. It's useful for FlyerTalk to have it so that such discussions do not spill into our core mission of miles and points. Although I, myself, do not enjoy such conversation, I see no reason to close the forum.
