Diamond member, just checked into Hilton Darwin. I was only upgraded to an Executive Room despite 4 different types of suites are still available for sale on Hilton site. When questioned, they said the quota of Diamond complimentary upgrade had been met. This can't be right. I asked 7am in the morning and no one likely would have beat me. I suspect they have an internal policy that allows no upgrades at all when a certain percentage of rooms have been sold. This is again unlikely because even if I selected 5 suites, they were still available. Looks like the hotel would rather leave the rest of the suites vacant than giving it to a Diamond member for free.

This is concerning because transparency is gone and they can do whatever they want and you will have no way of knowing.

This will be last stay at Hilton Darwin. Just can't agree with their policy, or honesty to be more appropriate.
