I'd agree. While I love flying, trains are just so much more practical when the times are so similar. And better for the environment. And typically more spacious and comfortable.
The whole process of traveling to the airport, checkin, lounge, gate, boarding, departure, arrival, gate, luggage, transport to the city is one that, while not particularly difficult, it is one that takes time. While when traveling by train you could probably use most of those 3 hours for something useful. Or less useful, like watching a movie. But at least you are able to. You probably won't be able to get much done when doing the same trip by air since the trip is so fragmented.
