Still not as bad as it was last June. 717s were on almost every flight from within the SE from ATL at a frequency of 3x daily.
In addition to being the right-capacity aircraft for these routes, I believe the 717 is engineered to withstand a lot of compression/decompression cycles in one day -- supposedly Hawaiian is having trouble figuring out what to replace theirs with because there is not really an aircraft on the market that has a similar durability spec. Delta doesn't fly missions quite as short, so the A220 seems like an obvious replacement.
