I was considering booking late October to NYC from London, but I think chances of travel to the US with no quarantine requirements are very, very slim this year. The Biden administration is likely to shut things down for a while.
I think the concern now, globally, is how effective all the vaccines we have now are against the mutant strain.
If the vaccines we have are effective against all the new strains, and the vaccination program here hits 3 - 3.5 million vaccinations per week (which is very possible), we would have most Britons vaccinated by around July. If the US vaccination program has gone just as well by June/July, then I would say and October trip would be very possible.
My advice, which I'm also doing, is wait a few months. I would also expect BA to extend their book with confidence policy soon.
