Pucci - What happens to unwanted cabin crew?
Leaving levity aside, there is something I was wondering about from last weekend's travels.

It looks like LHR-ORD is operated by one 777 and one 747 each day. But the 747 was replaced by a 777 just for the one day when I flew back (apparently a scheduled change, as it appeared in GDS displays). What happens to all the crew who operated the previous day's 747? And the 777 crew who have to operate the return from ORD? Does something like this cause a lot of crew to waft around the stratosphere deadheading?
