I had flights to Milan booked for December, one leg got cancelled and they let me move my booking to June and to Geneva. I also had flights to Dublin booked for October, they got cancelled, and I changed them to Belfast in Jan, they too got cancelled, so I changed again to Belfast in July.
If you flight is cancelled you can rebook within any date of the ticket validity. Plus, the rule is that you can chose a different airport within 300 miles. I do not see why this should be a problem.
