Using car rental points (e.g Avis points) with Amex card, insurance benefits covered?
If I use Avis points to book an Avis free day in US (and only paid $6 taxes) with Amex Platinum card (in US), does that trigger the car rental insurance that comes with the card normally? Here is the exact verbiage from Amex's car rental insurance terms, but it is not clear if they would consider redeeming Avis's own points as a discount/coupon or an external loyalty program:

Anyone who used Avis (or Hertz) points and had to file an amex claim can you please share your experience on how they interpreted this?
