May I ask which verbiage in the fare rules showed the $300? I used to be able to find that info in the T&Cs myself, but this one had me going. Especially with the refer-to-category-16 line, separated from the rest, making category 16 seem important, but there was no category 16 to be found.
UA provided fare rules do not label the field by Category number.
Using the reference provided early
UA labels Category 16 as "Penalties, Fare Component." There for RHX86NCT/PYUP the fare rules point to Category 31.
UA labels Category 31 as "Voluntary Changes" near the very end of the fare rules
That section is rather long and convoluted, but there you find the answer "USD 300.00"
