Are you thinking of the BNZ office (which is opposite check-in ground floor)? May seem like near arrivals if you are used to checking in at Qantas premium check-in facility (at the other end of check-ins)!
Is there something near the Flight Centre (at least that side of the terminal, and not the BNZ side)? I seem to recall some tiny one-counter Foreign Exchange operation...?
