AI has direct transfers within the airport - there will usually be people near the jet bridge calling for international travelers for different routes. Otherwise just approach any AI staff after you get of the plane and ask. To complicate matters depending on your flight # you could have immigration done at your port of origin or at Delhi. So what's your flight#?
I was connecting UK to UA, had to exit the terminal, walk for 2 minutes and re-enter at international departures (unless there's a walkway inside which I missed)

Immigration is not at my origin airport (my fiight # does not qualify)
