For a time this spring I had a perfect ratio of 1.5 -- thanks to leftover OWE segments plus a set of nice YUP fares. What did I get from AA in return? Nothing that I could perceive. No waiver of a change fee on a YUP when I had to change one. No expanded inventory for said YUPs. I was up to perhaps 25000 Q mi / 35000 Q pts when the streak came to an end, so they certainly had some opportunities.

However, I mentioned my perfect 1.5 ratio in a letter as to certain AAdvantage bonuses that AA had, for whatever reason, failed to credit me. Whether or not that mention was dispositive, I don't know, but AAdvantage customer service shotly granted me the bonus (after an initial round of denying that I had earned them).

That said, I've been satisfied by ordinary treatment from the EXP desk, and haven't had many occasions when much more could obviously have been given.
