Meh. Tried to get a retention bonus for personal Plat via chat online but was told no bc got one last year. I honestly might cancel it. Have had since 2011 and pay $725 (550+175) every year. Usually get some sort of retention every other year. REALLY hard to justify this year though because the main reason we have the plats is for lounge access. I wish I'd killed the AU plats back in March when I realized we weren't going to use them AT ALL this year. Harumph.
Anyone with a retention offer last year get one again this year? I am seriously considering canceling but may try again when it's closer to AF due in a couple of weeks.
Also, if I downgrade now, how easy is it to upgrade to plat again in future. I can't imagine "needing" plat for lounges until probably 2022. We are roadtripping this summer instead of flying.
