Sooner or later, telephone terrorism will have the same economic impact that real terrorist acts will. Why? Because we let the terrorists dictate how we will waste money and scare people.

Cost of a phone call from a payphone: 50 cents

Cost of a plane diversion: $100,000 - $200,000 easily.

Satisfaction of terrorists who can use a payphone or free wi-fi to cause this kind of chaos: priceless.
