Does anyone remember when they took out that 2nd mini-cabin on the 763er and left the two seats in the middle as pilot crew rest, and there were flight attendant crew rests on the sides? I flew this config from SLC-JFK several times and while they'd keep that mini-cabin for crew on international flights, on domestic segments you could be assigned the crew rest seats. If I didn't make an upgrade, I'd ask for one of the two middle seats. While you didn't get Business Elite service, you did git a nice comfy recliner seat.

BTW, speaking of, I miss the Business Elite Service on the JFK-SLC runs. There used to be 2 763s a day, back when maintenance on the 767-300er was done in SLC. Nice big dinner with choice of entrees, wine, and the sundae cart service. At that time, there were a hand full of 767-300er planes that were in domestic configuration that would sometimes get swapped in (always sad when the seat map swapped from Business Elite to domestic first at the last minute. A pilot told me it was to reposition the plane for maintenance in SLC, and that our domestic plane was actually an ER with bigger tanks and engines.)

Another fun memory - flying JFK-SLC with just over 6hrs of flying because of terrible head winds in December. The flight attendant also recognized that we had three 5 million milers on the flight that evening and thanked them for their business. Always awesome service from those crews as most were pretty senior SLC based crews.
