And lest anyone thinks this is one sided you are not allowed to bring similar items into the UK on return from the continent and that was clearly going to happen for quite some time.

So no more Dutch cheese for me on returning from weekends in Amsterdam.


And yes it is slightly silly that something that was legal at 22.59 UK time on 31st December became illegal just because the clock advanced nbut that's often the case with the law.
