During IRROPS on BA, there is no fare difference as well which is an advantage. On AA the -24/+24 hour policy might not be useful if the USA is still closed for UK arrivals, etc... and if the OP would like to postpone his travel to a future date.

Also for multi-city international flights ( the OP is planning to do a stopover ), it's not possible to change tickets online.
