Looks like United has cut the 777 service on UA flights 947 and 946 betwen IAD and LAX, as part of its "global restructuring and its domestic equipment usage." This flight has been around for years--in fact, I fondly recall with strong emotion the 747-400 service on this route as part of the Around the World Service, starting the first week of Jan 2005. It looks like it will be replaced by a mere 757.

This is a real disappointment for residents of Southern California and the National Capital Region. Any one else upset by this equipment downgrade?
