Boy, that really sucks.
One would imagine that the check-in agents or their supervisor would have a direct number to KL ticketing that they can call for support 24/7? It shouldn't be the passenger's responsibility to dial reservations and then end up at the end of a long line when the issue is urgent and the clock is ticking.
As you were denied boarding through no fault of your own, they owe you compensation plus all reasonable expenses.
