Given that breakfast is a clear weakness at Anantara, it never tempted me to try their dining venues the same way as Waldorf does. That said all my stays at Anantara Siam were during covid so I would need to see their buffet in normal times for a definitive statement that their breakfast is inferior to competitors in that price range.
Yes, Bangkok hotel buffet breakfasts are one definite covid casualty. I did a recent staycation at the Hilton Sukhumvit and they were doing their full breakfast buffet, which was offered at check-in for B300. It was a great value at that price.
