Unable to check in at airport - compensation?
Well I just had a lovely experience with KL in PRG this morning. They couldn't check me in and couldn't fix the problem at the airport so I had to call and wait forever on hold... By the time I had the ticket fixed it was after the departure time.
It was originally a DL ticket, had it changed last week at which point KLM took over the ticket.... Got an email with new flights, new e-ticket number and my card was charged for the fare difference. Noticed that there could be a problem yesterday when I couldn't do OLCI so I called KLM to ask why and they assured me all was in order with the booking and sometimes there are trouble doing OLCI with a codeshare flight (this morning was KL op but DL coded flight).
What else could I have done to avoid this? Can I claim EC261 compo plus expenses? My destination is not served daily so the next flight is Monday. I'll have to pay for another PCR test since my original taken on Thursday will be invalid by then, plus another night in a hotel...
