I was having a conversation with my CSD friend on medical emergencies. It is interesting the crew are no longer asking if 'there's a doctor on board' unless it is to administer say an injection (which CC are not supposed to do). With the new defib machines, I guess the policy is to let those who have been trained (i.e the crew) use them, rather than having an MD who isn't trained in their use. Also, with the med link, the doctor is at the other end of the line. </font>
I know that in the States, you're trained on the AED's as part of your CPR recertification, so my thinking would be is to call for a physician to start ACLS procedures if possible.

What are the equivalent certifications in the UK?
