I've only been in the UK for about a year now, and I'm a recent BAEC member. I'm not aware of what BA pricing and fares are in 'normal' times. Obviously, with Covid-19 and airlines trying to raise cash, there has been sale after sale with most airlines. As I'm now in London for the foreseeable future, I'm more focused on BA fares out of LHR.

Some of the amazing deals I have seen is LHR-JFK First class for 1500 GBP, LHR - ATH or LHR - IST in business for under 200 GBP and many intra-Europe business class fares for 150 - 200 GBP. I assume these fares are only here because of Covid-19.

During normal times, have you seen fares this low or better? I assume these are sale fares, but do sales fares normally get this low with BA?

I'd like to make some pre-emptive bookings, but I don't want to shell out too much when we really have no idea when travel will come back.

In general, are people looking to book now for flights 6, 9 and 12 months away? Or are people waiting when there is more clarity?
