Canadians with DUI offences are inadmissible to the U.S. as well. It is considered a crime of moral terpitude. I agree that it is ridiculous but it's just one of the consequences that people never consider before getting behind the wheel.
I had no clue this was a problem in entering Canada and The US. Fortunately, I'm DUI-less but as
Crampedin13A says, this is a SERIOUS reason not to get thrown in the slammer.
Not to mention the other serious consequences of a DUI....
