escape4, did you had to pay to get those hot food? The hotel told me that currently they're only offering a cold continental breakfast at the restaurant. For hot food, it'll cost C$8/day. I don't know what they're serving though. I'm a Marriott Titanium.
I'm not sure when you were at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, but I'm there right now and Globalists get to pick any grande hot drinks (no frappuccinos), two bananas, and a breakfast sandwich.
Yes, hot food was extra charge Westin but that is not the only Westin in Canada doing so so I was not entirely surprised. I am guessing this will improve when it's a Hilton. I declined to pay for the extra charge so in the picture of my review it was the continental breakfast only. For people who wanted to pay extra, there was a mini-buffet served by staff which included scrambled eggs, potatoes, etc. and other standard North American breakfast fare.
I was in HR in October for a quarantine stay. The bag they brought to our room on a daily basis was more extensive than only a banana and a sandwich, they were a bit heavy on the pastry side until I told them I wanted healthier choices if possible so I got cereals, milk, an apple, boiled egg. But all cold food and no sandwich.
