ViaSat claims "[c]ustomers can consistently expect speeds greater than 20 Mbps to the aircraft," but I'm not sure how accurate that is in the real world. UA obviously thinks it's true, or they would continue to block video streaming on ViaSatKa they way they do on their other technologies.
If the total bandwidth is 20 Mbps, I really don't know how UA can move to a free model. That's not alot of bandwidth if even 80% of the passengers connect to the service.
