I've stayed at the IC Athens. Nice hotel. But it is a bit out of the way (from typical tourist attractions). For me, it didn't matter, because I had a rental car, but surely you won't spend the difference (300 minus 115) in taxi fares.
As many others have said, the question about whether to spend 12,000 points per night is a purely personal matter. I spent 10,000 per night (for 3 nights) at the Seville Westin. And on the flip side, I've spend 12,500 for 6 nights at the Rome Four Points. My conclusion was that the Seville Westin was a rip off at 10,000 points and the Rome Four Points was a bargain
for 6 nights at 12,500!
I am now very cautious about ever spending that many points on a single night
unless I already know the hotel.
Disclaimer: My stay at the IC was nearly 5 years ago, so the quality of the hotel could very well have changed (for better or worse) in the mean time.
