I’m positive I have complained about this before, but it’s such a pet peeve....seat assignment for non-revs in J.

I’m on 351 this morning, booked my preferred seat when the upgrade window opened at 10 days. Right up to check in, EF showed the seat beside me as blocked. Load was 6/14 and then 3 non-revs.

Of course, when I board, 3&4 D/F are totally
empty, but there’s a non-rev right beside me. I asked the SD right in front of this person if I could move to one of the empty pairs for social distancing, and he agreed, no problem. Naturally, the non-rev made no effort to offer to move, but that’s not my real complaint, as I know they are by far more important than us lowly plebes.

How can they not just get the software to optimize the map, and keep any open seats beside revenue customers? This really can’t be this difficult. I know asking the GA to look and do it during the boarding cycle isn’t reasonable, but this really shouldn’t be that hard to fix, and would build up some goodwill with your revenue base.

<end rant>
