The four courtesy hours from the AmEx Plat card require that you booked through PTS using their "corporate" rate. It also doesn't apply overseas. It can be very useful (and cheaper) when you need to keep a car a few hours beyond a 24 hour period, such as pick it up at 2 pm and return it at 5:30 pm N days later.
