Perhaps with a note explaining the (perhaps slightly inflated) amount you were going to leave, and that it was cancelled due to the egregious disregard for the "Do Not Disturb" sign.
I think this is a great idea unless you ever plan on going back to the same hotel twice, at which point I would think the staff would (rightfully) take great pride in extracting their revenge for that sort of behavior.
