David 7, thanks. I mean a reasonably priced economy class fare which I then cancel within 24 hours rather than a full Y class fare. I don't overstretch it at all and am quite happy thereafter to buy a restricted CE, CW or F fare depending on where I'm flying to and if necessary pay a supplement to change the flight home or indeed book another flight entirely using Avios. Works for me and I haven't yet got stuck anywhere.
