As of now...its been lovely
If you want the cheapest of the hotels with a lounge, I think the Marriott Marquis is your best bet, I also find the low ceilings a turnoff. I was at the Grand Hyatt just last week and their lounge was quiet and relaxing for the 4 nights I was there, services were excellent. Yes, the Marriott Suriwongse does have a great lounge and lovely service and if you are desiring to be near the river attractions, it is a perfect location. The lounge a few weeks ago was quiet and well stocked and had a no children policy which kept it quiet. One night one family did not read the club benefits regarding children and they kindly put them in the conference room where the doors closed. I was at the Marquis the other week and the lobby was hopping, thankfully I was not staying. It is quite spoiling staying at any of the BKK hotels as the service levels are quite high and most treat their frequent visitors quite well. Visiting the USA or Europe is always a wake up call regarding service at hotels.....makes me miss Asia all the time. I agree that it is a strange time in the hotel industry with so many properties half full and partially closed with furloughed staff and a multitude of changes. That said there are some great deals to be had out there and I am very enjoying trying them all. Safe travels to all!
