Insurance Policy For Antarctica Trip
Sorry for the brevity of my reply. A bit more information. Insurance is a topic where the less you pay, the less you get. Policies that are secondary, cost a whole lot less than primary policies. the reason is that the primary policy pays first. Secondary policies pay only AFTER you have exhausted any other ways, such as your homeowners and auto insurance. They can take months until you get paid. So buy primary. Evacuation insurance is critical; the larger the benefit, the greater ther cost. When I went, I took $1,000,000 in evacuation. I also purchase policies. that evacuate me to a hospital of MY choice; not the nearest appropriate facility ( usually determined by the insurance company ). Never purchase a cancel for any reason policy. the covered reasons are generally sufficient. Covered reasons, among others include illness or death of both a spouse or immediate family member. You're not going to cancel your trip because your Aunt Tillie threw a surprise birthday party for her cat, so you don't need a cancel for any reason policy, for which you pay dearly and may only offer you a voucher for another trip. Just a couple of other things about insurance. The Travel insurance company can guide you through it. Oh, and don't rely on free credit card insurance. Remember you get what you pay for.
