You can indeed come up with another routing, but you need to keep within policy in terms of airlines used, and that's going to be tricky. You may be able to get the QR routing via Doha if you have a commercial booking, I suspect the options won't be very good on the whole. Best to research this and suggest them to the agent since their computer systems simply don't throw up good ideas. Also check whether rebooking it yourself is better value, many fares are low at the moment so it may be better to have a refund.
