Thanks for this. I have been trawling all official documentation - even the original announcement from the Spanish government wasn't clear. It's very frustrating - we can fly to Netherlands and then fly AMS>>>MAD>>>San Jose no worries. We just aren't allowed to fly LHR>>>MAD>>>San Jose (cant recall the airport code for Juan Santamaria sorry!)

Anyhoo thank you for pointing out markies post - I did manage to find it and its very useful to hear real life experience of what is actually happening once folks arrive at Heathrow.
